How to have a Guest user and Hybrid user with same email
Hello all,
Here I'm in loop where we invited a guest user for Teams channel access from our Azure AD and also the same user needs to have SharePoint access for that we need to add the user to Local AD and add the user to required groups to get him access with SharePoint.
After adding the AD object with same email, we are getting sync issues (Duplicate proxy address).
To get clear that sync issue we changed the guest user email from email address removed for privacy reasons to email address removed for privacy reasons in Azure now the two accounts are visible as Active users as email address removed for privacy reasons (Synced user) and email address removed for privacy reasons (Guest user).
Here again a new issue has been created,
When our user sends a mail or revert back to email address removed for privacy reasons the mails are getting sent to email address removed for privacy reasonsand returning with NDR. (The mails are getting redirected to guest user)
How to deal with this.
Thanks in advance.
- Dan_SnapeSteel ContributorAAD is designed to only have the user represented once, so you should have either a guest user or a user, not both. You can try and hide the problem account from the GAL, but it may not solve your issues. The issue might be occurring because users have cached the incorrect account in Outlook (through the type ahead feature), so messages are being sent to the guest account, which you've changed the email address for and is thus incorrect.
- Mani333Copper ContributorHello Dan,
Thanks for your response,
In my case the guest users already hidden from GAL but still getting those suggestions even after hitting the empty auto complete list option from outlook settings.
