Azure Sizing for Exchange Server 2019 Setup with different Availability Zones
Dear Experts,
Could you please help confirm how to calculate the Azure sizing for setting up 2 Exchange Server 2019 instances on Windows Server 2022, with each server in a different availability zone, and a file witness server in a 3rd availability zone?
Assume we have a total Exchange mailbox database is 70, with each database sized at 500 GB, distributed across the 2 servers.

- JaapWesseliusCopper ContributorI did this for a customer last year and used the Exchange calculator for the initial sizing followed by some tweaking.
In the end we decided to host the 2 Exchange server on a vmware platform on-premises, the cost of hosting the servers in Azure was way too high.- MunnaCopper Contributor
All our user mailboxes are migrated to M365 and are hosted on-premises in Azure. We primarily use legacy protocols for legacy apps, shared mailboxes, and an archive manager. Will this sizing still be applicable? -
Additionally, version 10.7 is the latest version available at this link - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=102123. One of the forums mentioned that the sizing calculator can only be downloaded from the Volume Licensing Service Center. which is true, may the post is old?
- JaapWesseliusCopper ContributorYou should be good. Maybe you can scale down a bit and when needed increase your VMs to see how things are going.
The sizing calculator should be available on the Exchange 2019 ISO, but also available from the Microsoft download center: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=102123
