Sorry, the problem is present with any file even if created new
FOUND IT...
On closer inspection I found that it was software installed for an external keyboard that conflicted with the CTRL + arrow key combinations
I thank the whole community and I apologize for not having identified the problem in a more timely manner.

What did you specifically do to solve the problem, I have the same issue when I press control + page down it just moves to the next line with words
- Try checking Tools/Options/Transition/Transition Navigation Keys checkbox - change the setting and test. will just work!
