Workbook links not updating in Excel for Web
Hi,
I have a file that is entirely full of workbook links to a seperate file. Our users will generally access this file through Excel for Web. The problem we are finding is that when the main file that contains the data is updated, the changes are not immediately reflected on the linked file , viewed in Excel for Web.
I have tested the following.
Both workbooks opened in Excel (desktop) - changes updated immediately.
Original workbook opened in Excel (desktop)/linked workbook (opened in browser - changes are only updated when original workbook is closed or saved. AutoSave function does not trigger change.
Is there a way so that the users viewing in the browser can see changes updated immediately, and not rely on another user closing the original workbook or manually saving when they make changes?
Cheers,
H

I am having the same issue, but the other way around. When opening the files on the Desktop, no changes are reflected vs the Web version updates just fine. Only I am having this issue as well, my colleagues have no problem switching between the two. Auto save is on, have tried turning it off, sign in/out, repair etc. No luck. Curious to see what the fix is here.
