When I split my screen in Excel for MAC (16.73) vertically..

When I split my screen in Excel for MAC (16.73) vertically, when I go to the upper window to scroll up or down, that window will also move side to side as I quickly scroll. How can it be made so it does not scroll horizontally while you intentionally scroll vertically?

Any suggestions are certainly appreciated.
