If the Move or Copy dialog box in Excel is taking a long time to populate or appears empty, it could be due to various factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the issue:

    1. Check Excel Add-ins: Some Excel add-ins can cause performance issues. Try disabling any third-party add-ins that you may have installed and see if the problem persists.
    2. Check Excel Options: Go to "File" > "Options" > "General." Under the "User Interface Options" section, ensure that the "Optimize for compatibility" option is unchecked. This option can sometimes cause delays in displaying dialog boxes.
    3. Check File Size: If the Excel workbook is very large or contains complex formulas, it may take longer to load certain features like the Move or Copy dialog box. Consider optimizing the workbook's size and formulas if possible.
    4. Check Network Connection: If the workbook is stored on a network drive, a slow or unstable network connection could cause delays. Try opening the workbook locally on your computer and see if the issue persists.
    5. Repair Office Installation: It's possible that there is a problem with your Office installation. Try repairing the Office installation to fix any potential issues.
    6. Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration: Excel uses hardware graphics acceleration to improve performance, but sometimes it can cause issues. Go to "File" > "Options" > "Advanced." Under the "Display" section, check the "Disable hardware graphics acceleration" option and restart Excel.
    7. Clear Excel Temp Files: Excel stores temporary files that can accumulate over time and affect performance. Clearing the temporary files may help. Go to "File" > "Options" > "Save." Under the "Save workbooks" section, click the "Browse" button next to the "AutoRecover file location" and delete the temporary files.
    8. Check System Resources: Check your computer's CPU and memory usage while using Excel. If the system resources are being heavily utilized, it may cause delays in Excel's functions.
    9. Update Excel: Ensure that you have the latest updates installed for Excel. Microsoft frequently releases updates that can improve performance and fix issues.
