What encryption does Excel (0365) utilise?
Hello All,
I've done a fair bit of searching, but I am unable to find a specific answer to my question.
What encryption does Excel (part of 0365) use to protect a spreadsheet, when I select File -> Protect Workbook -> Encrypt with password?
Any assistance will be highly appreciated.

It was AES-128 on 2013 and AES-256 on 2016, not sure which one is now
- puradzhievCopper ContributorThank you. Do you think this info (for 2016) is published anywhere officially?

I googled for few minutes and found wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Office_password_protection and cloud encryption https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/compliance/office-365-encryption-for-skype-onedrive-sharepoint-and-exchange?view=o365-worldwide, but I think if spend more time something from Microsoft could be found
