View New Window Book1:2 , Book1:3

Why or when do you use View New Window which creates Book 1:2 , The Book 1:3
Why or when would you need this and what is the benefit of this feature ..I use excel every day in my role however I cannot work out when or why I would/may need this feature ...thankyou for all your help and advise ….
One use I have for it is when I need to visually compare data for two different sets of rows on the same worksheet. I could use freeze panes but then I would need to constantly change the selection for freeze panes.
