Unlocking an old form

I have inherited several templates created by someone formerly employed by my company.

Unfortunately they are locked and I do not have the password to unlock or access to the person who build them and I need to make modifications.

Is there a back door way to get into them, a way around, or do they need to be completely rebuilt?
