Unable to use freeze panes and print preview

I have an XL spreadsheet that was originally in my one drive "documents" file. I updated it, saved a copy under a new name and placed it in a file where I could find it more easily. I plan to eliminate the original file so I do not confuse it with the file I want to use.

I am unable to use freeze panes in the renamed document. The button is grayed out.

I am unable to see up print preview because I get a message where print preview should appear that the software does not see anything to print.

I do not know what I have done wrong
