UNABLE TO PROTECT A WORKBOOK AND UNPROTECT A SINGLE CELL

Hi everyone! Trebby here! I am completely a new excel-user with basic knowledge. I am learning my old books and updates thru random YT tutorials.

SCENARIO: I want to be able to share the workbook link thru the web with view-only access and at least 1 single cell unprotected- to be used for searching info. I don't even know if that's possible but that's basically what I am thinking. Just like a simple KB that allows to search and get info, but with no modification feature at all.

ISSUE: PROTECT A WORKBOOK, then UNPROTECT A SINGLE CELL
TS DONE:

  1. Already enabled "PROTECT WORKBOOK", even set up a pw.
  2. Enabled "ALLOW EDIT RANGES" because i thought it pertains to what I want to do. lol XD
  3. Shared the link, and checked access on incognito but it didn't work. I can still click any cells in the spreadsheet and can edit.

THANKS FOR YOUR HELP! 🙂
