Unable to Copy from Cell in one file to Comment on another file

Unable to Copy from a cell in a worksheet to a comment in another worksheet.

In the past I've been able to copy the contents of the cells (text) from say Cells A1-A10 on File 1 to a Comment on File 2. This is very handy as the lists I am copying are multiple part numbers and on File 2 which is a log of things, I use the word Multi in the cell and add a Comment in which I paste the list of part numbers.

I've discovered I can copy from the cells A1-A10 on File 1 and Paste to Notepad easily, then copy from there to the Comment in File 2.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this?
