Tracking check boxes
Please can anyone assist? I am a teacher and as part of my development this year, I am looking at tracking the instances of late or not done homework - both for myself and my department. I had the idea of adding check boxes to each of the cells to show these issues but had wanted, if possible, to have a conditionally formatted cell at the end of each row (per student) which changed color depending on whether or not the sanctions had to be placed. Is this possible? If not, is there another way that I can add data measuring functions without increasing the work for my colleagues. If they have to click a cell, this will take almost no time but further than this could increase workload significantly.

G_Wood_1976 Checkboxes in Excel are a nightmare to maintain. I would suggest the following:
- Select all cells that need a checkbox
- Choose Data Validation from the Data menu:
- Make sure the dialog looks like this:
- Click OK
Now all they have to do is enter a y or an n into those cells, or they can use the in-cell drop-down:
