Top Menu Greyed out when using macros

Using Excel 16 on Windows 10. PC has 32 Gig of Ram.

I use macros with my spreadsheets. When I employ a few, the top menu becomes greyed out and I don't have access to it.

I'm guessing it's a memory issue. Is there a way to increase the amount of memory so I can use my macros.
