Sum Values based on same columns

Hello :).   I've been struggling with finding a good solution to calculate the total price of the products in the first row of the total column, but only when the info in the Name column matches.  ...

    =IF(COUNTIF($A$2:A2,A2)=1,SUMIF($A$2:$A$12,A2,$D$2:$D$12),"")

    You can try this formula.

a quick and simplified solution 🙂

=SUMIF(A2:A500,"name" or Cell,D2:D500)

Yes, that is a great solution, I used something similar. But that's the problem. it still gives me other values in every row I don't want :). Just need it in the first line.
