Suddenly don't have access to charts (grayed out)
You're awesome! This worked for me.
Next question is... how did it get turned off? Is there some obscure keyboard shortcut that does this, or maybe a recent update? I didn't even know this option existed, and there's no way I turned it off by going through the menus...
lowbar The same thing happened to me, which is what led me here. You were probably trying to do the same thing I was by pressing Ctrl + Y to redo, and accidently hit the shortcut, Ctrl + 6, instead.

khow105 this was the solution for me. I'm using Mac Excel, and File / Options, the first suggestion in this thread, doesn't appear available to the Mac UI.
I must have hit Ctrl 6 accidentally. For those not in the know, it apparently toggles a https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/keyboard-shortcuts-in-excel-1798d9d5-842a-42b8-9c99-9b7213f0040f (search for "ctrl+6"), which, if objects are hidden, then disables charting.
Who knew? I guess @khow105 did. Thanks for the post.
