Subtotals not showing levels

We are using Excel 2013 and when we do the subtotals the levels that are usually there don't show up on the left hand side on one computer. It does on the other and if the file is saved by the computer that shows the levels it will show up on the other. 

I've searched this problem online and the only thing i've found was going into options --> advanced and tick the box that says shows outline symbols if outlines are applied.. we've tried it and it doesn't work.

Any suggestions???
