Strange black areas on Excel online
I am getting really strange black and blue areas covering up part of my spreadsheet when I open it in Excel on the web, it works fine on the desktop app. Any ideas what could be causing this? I first...
I expect some bug in Excel Online working with some specific rule(s) in conditional formatting. But it's hard to be more concrete without the file or small sample with conditional formatting where such effect could be reproduced.
just a stab in the dark but the way the shapes are 'pointing' at cells makes me think of Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents (which are black and blue lines/arrows). They are options available in the desktop version (Formulas -> Formula Auditing). Maybe try opening in desktop, select all, and Remove Arrows and saving and then try again in online?
