Stock Data Types Wont Refresh - Provides Erroneous Error Message

I have an Excel workbook I created a few months ago and this afternoon while I was away, the "stocks" data type refresh feature stopped refreshing. The error message I receive instructs me to sign in to an account associated with this product (Excel), but I am clearly signed in. To be sure, I sign out and sign back in. Hit 'refresh' and receive the same error message. MS tech support tried to make a manual repair during a chat session, but it still will not refresh. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    Edit:

It's affecting enough people that it could be an issue with the data provider. Might have to wait for an update from MS.

      I'm having the same problem and steps 1 - 3 didn't help...How is step #4 accomplished?

UPDATE:   I hve signed out & in 5 times now ( plus restarted my laptop 3 times) with no success. I finally got to Crenendtial Manager and I have no direct mention of office in it. Any thoughts/ideas? Thanks to all.

I have also tried the first three steps with no success, and am not sure how step #4 is accomplished.

Same thing. I was signed in, it showed I had the 365 Subscription, but still was saying "Need to sign in."

I had to totally sign out, quit Excel, and do so two times. It finally recognized me and worked. Frustrating, and not the first time this has happened. Leading me to suspect that it has to do with some poorly orchestrated update to Excel.
