Stock Data Types Wont Refresh - Provides Erroneous Error Message
I have an Excel workbook I created a few months ago and this afternoon while I was away, the "stocks" data type refresh feature stopped refreshing. The error message I receive instructs me to sign in...
Maybe I'm stating the obvious, but I'll do it anyway. I believe Microsoft's source for stock quotes is Refinitiv. I think that's where the error message is being generated; Microsoft or Refinitiv broke the connection that exists between them, interrupting the flow of stock data.
If that were the case why would the message be specifically about the account you're logged in with, rather than a connection issue?
Would be good for MS to post an update.....
- Good question, Chris. I doubt the error message is necessarily accurate. When the connection doesn't work, perhaps the error handling in the code defaults to a login issue when it cannot determine the real problem.
