Stock Data - Disable Auto Refresh on archived files

Since Excel introduced auto refresh as the default setting on Stocks Data, I have a problem when opening historical archived files.

The issue is that the historical data auto updates before I can change the setting to the Manual update option. 

 

Is there any way I can set to manual before the data updates?

    No replies so far, however, I have sussed out a couple of solutions 

     

    1. Disconnect from internet before opening archive file. Change Data Type Refresh Settings to Manual and save file.

    2. Alternatively, view file via preview pane in Windows explorer.
