Spread sheet does not show colour from drop down list.

Question

I have created a dropdown list with Data and colour using Data validation. on sheet 1. Section of the cells to apply the drop down list only enters the data of the cell not the colour -main spreadsheet page. The spreadsheet has a header with different cell colours so I am able to fill other cells cells with different colours. See below Can anyone assist please?

You'll have to create conditional formatting rules for the cells with the data validation drop-downs: one rule for each value of the drop-down list.
