Splitting alpha from numeric

    Another alternative would be this...

    To extract Numbers:

    =IF(ISTEXT(A2),--LEFT(A2,LEN(A2)-1),A2)

    To extract Suffix character:

    =IF(ISTEXT(A2),RIGHT(A2),"")
