Special Paste (Values) without links.

Greetings,

I have two workbooks and three sheets. Workbook1 has SheetA and SheetB, and is created daily. Workbook2 has SheetC and is done for the month. Data is input to SheetA and using formulas is recreated on SheetB in a format that matches SheetC. My issue is when I copy and special paste from SheetB to SheetC as values, when I open Workbook2 I get a warning about links. Is there a way to copy and paste the data without excel keeping the references to another workbook? Hopefully I have described the issue well enough.

Some more information that I wasn’t able to get until getting to work. This is on Excel 2016. The formulas on sheetB are =Left(SheetA!B2,4) and =Right(SheetA!B2,6).

When opening workbook2 I get the following warning:
This Workbook contains links to one or more external sources that could be unsafe.

I will say I find that odd since I’m pasting the data as values so there are no formula referencing another workbook or sheet.

Thanks,
pq

You can control the links to the document from the Data menu --> from Queries and connection group click on Edit Links --> from the window you can choose:

1- to break the links by click on break Links  or

2-  Enable/Disable the notification and the update whenever you open the workbook

By click on Startup Prompt --> choose "Don't display the alert and don't update automatic links" --> OK
