SOMETHING SIMPLE . .

Hi all,

Firstly , I am a complete lay person , thrown into the world of lottery syndicates , with ZERO prior knowledge of EXCEL - I`m just after making things a lot easier on myself.

I`m after something SOoooo simple , it`s an embarrassment to write !  I have created a simple "lottery tracker" spreadsheet , and each week I enter the amount we have won in a row ( starting at D36 ) , I would like a running total to be displayed in the cell BELOW my last win entry , and be constantly updated when I enter the next win amount , and so on..

on the attached sheet , it`s pretty much just the bottom 2 lines

Any experts fancy that challenge ?   or even how to pimp it up a bit  :)

    Hi Ian

I'm not aware off the top of my head regarding a running total formula, but if you are reporting a week by week win then the sheet I have modified might suit.

All I have done is added additional rows to capture your weekly wins (5 weeks as some months will have 5 weeks in them) and a simple SUM formula to total the amounts as you change them.

Hopefully I am understanding you right. See what you think?

    Cheers

Thank you for the reply Damian  it's not quite what I was after. as I tend to "hide" the ROWS once that week has passed.

Maybe i'm trying to do something which i'm not 100% sure about yet :)

I sort of see where you are going with this. It's possible to just have it as you did before and have a running total formula for row 36. You can hide the columns as you need it and it won't affect the formula.

Or as you say, see what you want and let us know if you still need help?

        Good luck!

        Cheers

        Damien
