Slicer not updating when source data is updated

I am using latest version of Office 365. My issue is the following:
I update data using Power Query.
When I go to a pivot table with slicers, I have to select at least one of the slicers before the pivot table updates. This is very confusing for example if I have Region A and Region B in a slicer and Region A is selected before updating and I then refresh all data, it still shows the old data for Region A when I go to the sheet. The data actually only update in the table if I select either Region B or Region A again. This is very confusing for users.
