Simple question on printing fill colors in cells

I am working on a project and want to use colors cells to separate information to make it easier to read.

I'll try to attach a photo.
You will see I have a persons name and then a row of cells above and below his name that are GRAY.  When I look at the print preview it shows them.  But when I tell it to print - IT IGNORES them.
What do I need to have turned on (or off) to make sure these areas get printed.
I went to the page layout and highlighted the entire page and set it to "set page layout" so it would print everything ad still got the same result
I've spent 3 hours this morning trying to solve this.
I also want to print n BLACK only because I have 300+ pages to print; all in black only text.  Below is what I WANT it to print out looking like.  ON the monitor I get this appearance - but when it prints the lines of separate disappear.  I do have the gridlines turned off because that looks to 'busy" and unprofessional.
BUT I think the cells with the grace fill SHOULD print.
HELP Please.
