Sheet View's hide column feature does not work as intended

Hello! I have built a file shared by up to 20 people at a time, each having their own personal sheet view. When a user is within their personal view and hides a column, it hides the column for all other views as well (desktop or web versions of excel tested). I was of the understanding that the capability to hide columns (and not impact other views) was implemented in Nov 2021, however it is not working for us.
