Shape distortion in excel older version and office 365 (At office vs home)

Actually, if 3 rounds are in line, one change to oval. not other 2. Similarly distortion happens to rectangles and texts too

  • If only one of three identical circles becomes oval, that shape probably has different sizing or cell-placement settings. Different Excel versions, display scaling and row or column sizes can then resize it differently.

Try this on the affected shapes:

    1. Select the shape and open Shape Format > Size.
    2. For a circle, enter the same value for Height and Width.
    3. Open Size and Properties, enable Lock aspect ratio, and under Properties select Move but don’t size with cells.
    4. Repeat this for the other shapes, or format one correct shape and duplicate it instead of copying the distorted one.
    5. Save the workbook as .xlsx, especially if it is currently using the older .xls format.

For distorted text, check that the same font is installed on both computers. A missing font may be substituted and change the text box size. Also compare the Windows display scale and Excel zoom level on the office and home computers.

If the workbook still looks different, set Microsoft Print to PDF as the default printer on both computers and reopen Excel. Excel uses printer information when calculating parts of the worksheet layout, so different printer drivers can sometimes change object positioning and sizing.

    Hello manupatt,

Since the issue occurs between Excel versions, it may be worth checking compatibility.

Microsoft documents compatibility issues involving graphics, shapes, WordArt, and text boxes. In some cases, objects may not look or behave exactly the same when opened in an earlier Excel version.

Graphics, object, or ActiveX control compatibility issues in Excel for Windows

What are the exact Excel versions/builds being used at the office and at home?
