selecting the data line in a chart isn't giving me click&drag function in both data fields
I have a data line in a chart, plotting the data from cells in two columns. Until recently, I could select the plot line in the chart, the data cells would be highlighted, and if I selected any one of the "corner grab points" (not sure whether that's what they are called) I could slide up or down to change the range of data, and both data fields (i.e. in both columns) would move with the cursor. So I'd be controlling the data field in both columns, by just dragging the highlighted data in one of the columns.
That functionality has just stopped, for reason unknown. Now I have to drag the data highlight field in one column, then do the same in the other. Can anyone help me get back to the prior state?

are you sure you selected a specific line? When I select the CHART the data is highlighted and when I change the range then both x and y change but if I select the individual line then only that column changes. And btw that only works if the range is the same for each (e.g. A1:A100, B1:B100, C1:C100 but doesn't work if the ranges are different lengths like A1:A100, B1:B90, C1:C80)
here is screenshot of me sliding the range up and down (it had included all the data and I click 1 of the corner handle and slid it up and as you see the other column slid up the same)
