Searching Activate Worksheet window

I have Office Home and Student 2019 and I recently upgraded to a new computer so I had to reinstall my Office. I have a workbook with over a hundred worksheets on it, each with its own unique label, but many of them similar, such as 'Red1', 'Red2', 'Red3' etc. If I right-click on the two arrows at the bottom-left of the workbook, to the left of the list of worksheets, it shows me a list of all my worksheets in a popup window so I can select the one I want. In order to search the worksheets in this window, I can start typing the name of the worksheet and it will then automatically select the worksheet based on what I have typed. On my old computer, if I then waited a few seconds and started typing again, it will then continue searching through all the subsequent worksheets in the list. So for example, if I started by typing 'Red', it would find 'Red1', then if I started typing 'Red' again, it would find 'Red2', and again for 'Red3' etc. But now on my new computer, every time I type 'Red', it just finds 'Red1', regardless of how many times I type 'Red'. If I want to find 'Red2', I have to type 'Red2', which is a bit annoying. I'm sure there has to be a setting for this somewhere but I can't find it. Anyone have any ideas on this?

  • How about trying this:

    • Adjust keyboard repeat delay:
      • Go to Control Panel > Keyboard and reduce the repeat delay.
      • This may help Excel register repeated keystrokes more responsively.
    • Use VBA for a custom sheet navigator
    • Try Excel 365 or newer versions
    • Use the Name Box trick: Type the sheet name directly into the Name Box (left of the formula bar) and hit Enter, it jumps straight to that sheet.

Thanks for this, but unfortunately none of these suggestions have helped. Is there anything else I can try?
