SEARCH and REPLACE
I want to replace the field 0.000.54 to 000054, but when I search . and replace it, the result is 54. even when i the orginal field is a text field

Strange behavior!
It seems like a bug!
However, you can depend on this formula instead:
=SUBSTITUTE(A1,".","")
