Retaining Formatting When Moving/Copying Excel Worksheets

hi all. I need to copy worksheets and retain the formatting (eg colours/layout).  In recent weeks, the new workbook has applied completely different colours and the palette does not contain the ones used in the original workbook.  I have tried copying the sheet within the workbook, then moving, copying and pasting into a new workbook and all kinds of other workarounds. There is no 'paste special' command when copying one worksheet into another file.  I wondered if anyone can help - thank you.
