Removing leading zeros is not the default, but still wants to convert

Hi, hope someone can help.  Excel seems to work differently on each of my PCs.  On my newest laptop the leading zeros are being removed by default, even though in Data Options this is not selected.  ...

The option "When loading a .csv file or similar file, notify me of any automatic data conversion" seems gone in Excel 365 2308 with no mention in any change history.

Workaround: data connection from text/csv with data transformation, data type: text is way less handy.

Still searching for the old version or some simple variation of it because the workaround would be a major step back in Excel usability.

The old RegKey, CsvLoadDisplayNumberConversionDialog, does not take effect, suggesting the behavior has been changed indeed and not just that the checkbox has been moved elsewhere.

    Excel 365 2408 has returned the lost configuration options (Automatische Datenkonvertierung at the bottom of Excel Options > Data).

    New regkeys under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Excel\Options like AutomaticNumberConversionTruncateLeadingZeros
