Remove indicator of who is editing a cell

Seems stupid simple but how do I get rid of the indicator as in the pic of who is editing a cell in Excel?  In the included screen snap "RA" is indicated.

I don't know the 'name' of the 'feature' that occasionally blocks the information in adjoining cells ... but I have tried searching help for weeks and just can't find it.
