Refresh Power Query - while document is open

Hey,

 

Is there a way to get around the fact that I cannot refresh my data if my connected document is open?

 

We have about 10 docs that are updated throughout the day and we have another document that links all of them together into one table. However, if any one of these docs are open the master spreadsheet will not refresh.

    Out of curiosity since we have the same scenario, I tried this and had no issues with it refreshing while the source excel sheet was open.
    When you say it won't refresh, do you mean you get an error or just that the new data isn't pulled in?
