Reference an existing cell value to use for Stocks data

I note that trying to set a cell to Stock Data doesn't work if the cell is a formula. As I want to prepend a ticker value in an already populated cell with the relevant exchange (ie. XASX:CAA) is there a way to do this and have Stock Data populate (another cell?) without typing into the cell manually?
