Reference a single named cell

I want reference a single named cell in a formula e.g. In cell A1:- =D1+Lunch this gives me an err #NAME? In Cell b1 is 34.5 This cell is named as 'Lunch' This works:- =D1+$B$1  . . . =D23+$...
