How do I stop people using this info to unlock my password protected files?

If you're talking about sheet protection or protect workbook, it's even easier to remove those passwords than the methods described in the link. Password to open is another matter, is is encrypted but could possibly be removed by a third party app.
You might want to re-consider making the workbook available at all or sharing it instead as an encrypted PDF.Do not give other people access to this file,
Do not put "secret" information in a file if others have access to it.
