LaurLaura okay. So leave your data in Excel. Each user can still use Power Query or SQL or Data Import features in their Excel to access source file and not alter for other users as they filter..sort..analyze.
- What about if each user has their OneDrive auto synced to changes made on local version automatically get made on Cloud version in OneDrive? That's how mine works. Auto sync updates Desktop to OneDrive.

I could understand working like this in a git environment, where the utilities available would give advanced options to push / pull and review changes between multiple versions, with one main version.
Not applicable for how users expect Excel in the cloud to function. Google sheets handles this type of thing just fine, by comparison. - What are you talking about? When multiple users are editing a live data table (such as a project tracking sheet) in the cloud, your method doesn't work.
