"protect sheet" option still allows for deleting of protected cells
I protected the above worksheet under "protect sheet" option, inserted my password then "ok" but it still allows for deleting of protected cells. The only way around this is if I unselect "select locked cells" and "select unlocked cells". But when I do that I can't search then select any cells.

Follow these steps:- Unprotect the worksheet if it’s protected.
- Now, select the range (column C) that you want to lock.
- Open the Format Cells popup window (by pressing Ctrl+Shift+F or Ctrl+1). On the Protection tab, check the Locked box, then click OK.
- Finally, go back to the Review tab and select Protect Sheet.
