Problem with conditional formatting?

Does anyone know if I can change the colour of box A24 if box M24 says yes?

    Hi Stephen,

    To do that:

    • Select cell A24 then go to Home >> Styles >> Conditional Formatting >> New Rule
    • In the New Formatting Rule dialog box, select Use a formula to determine which cells to format
    • Insert this formula into the formula box:
    =M24="yes"
    • Press the Format button to choose the format
    • Hit OK

    Hope that helps

      Hi Haytham

Thanks for your reply but the only cell that changed colour was M24 but I wanted A24 to change as well.  do you know how to make it work?

      thanks again

        Hi Stephen,

You have to select the cell A24 before you apply the rule.

Please note that the rule will be applied to the selected cell or range of cells.

I guess you have selected the cell M24 before you applied the rule!
