Pre-populating data validated cells in web-based Excel

Working in the web-based version of Excel...

In the past, I have been able to type the first letter or two of each word, and the cell would automatically recognize it and pre-populate based on previous entries in that column. (Example, if the column is used to record colours, I would only have to type in the letter G and it would auto-populate the word Green).

This saved a lot of time.

Unfortunately this is no longer happening. I have to type each entry regardless of whether it was previously entered.

This is a new issue happening over the last few days. Any feedback would be helpful.

There as many reports that this feature has been disabled. Perhaps Microsoft found a bug, and has disabled autocomplete temporarily until a fix has been found.

Thanks for your response. Glad to know it's not just me.

I have four separate excel sheets that I regularly work on using the web-based application. Strangely enough, the feature is disabled in three of them, but one is still auto-populating. I can't think of any particular reason why this would be.

      I appreciate your feedback.
