Power Query hangs Excel
After getting my first power query done and working spectacularly then singing its praises and setting up my staff to take some online training in power query, my very next power query attempt hangs Excel. I did an online repair to Office, rebooted my computer, changed the size of the cache. None of that made any difference. I am just trying to 'get data' from a worksheet and it hangs. What did I do that broke it. There are only 9000 rows of data with 15 columns.
I have looked at the event log. What I get is :
Log Name: Application
Source: Application Hang
Date: 5/15/2020 9:51:07 PM
Event ID: 1002
Task Category: (101)
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: my computer
Description:
The program EXCEL version 16.0.11929.20708 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.
Hang type: Top level window is idle
Security and Maintenance indicated there were no issues. Any other suggestions?
I was really looking forward to this making my life easier.

my best guess is if you are reading the file from a shared folder or an online site, local sharepoint also, there can be an issue with access rights. please check this first as the total of 9000 rows is not a restriction for Power Query.

Thank you for the suggestion. It turns out that wasn't it but I will keep that in mind in the future. The fix, I think, was removing all of the .com add-ins and then re-adding them one at a time. I did that, added them back and now everything works. I wish I knew what removing them and re-adding them accomplished but that was what I did right before it started working again. I don't understand why it stopped working in the first place. Maybe the last upgrade produced a conflict? But I'm just grateful it works again. Thank you again for responding. erol sinan zorlu
