Populating rows with linked info

I have a work book sheet (doc1) that has a data in 4 columns that are names and dates with conditional formatting.
i want to use that data and populate that info on another work book sheet.
not just a single cell, but the row of info.
if i type one datas name, can it populate the rest of the info in the row?

if i type one datas name, can it populate the rest of the info in the row?

That all depends. It is possible to do, and do quite easily IF the name you type is unique. Excel has some wonderful tools for taking clearly identified data from a table and using it to populate fields elsewhere. One of the earliest tools, and most popular now for decades, is the VLOOKUP function. There are others that have come along as spreadsheets have developed the functions to be more flexible and more powerful.

But that first point is crucial--the name (or identifier) you type as the basis for retrieving the rest of the info on the row needs to be unique if you really want just the information on that one row. This is why such things as employee IDs (or customer IDs, etc) are handy.

If your data file is not proprietary or confidential, would you be willing to post a copy of the spreadsheet on OneDrive or GoogleDrive and paste a link here granting edit access?

      In image 1:

This is the workbook I would like to take the info from.

      Image 2:

Highlighted info I would like to extract and move to another workbook.

      Image 3:

These two buttons move the data into different views for assisting finding things in the workbook quicker.

So when you see it in this view the cells A6 and A7 read Gage ID F-114 and F-115… etc.

When you hit the button at the top, those cells and all the others will be moved around to read this in a different order.

The reason I mention this is, if you try taking the information from cell A1 for that info, then you hit one of the top buttons, cell A1 info has changed.

      Image 4:

The dates circled are viewing a calendar and always changing. I would not like to have them change on the other worksheet, more like  a snap shot of – Gage id, equipment name, in cal and cal due. Not sure if that is possible.

      Image 5:

Can I pull the data from this workbook by LOOKing for the gage id number; F-114 or F-294, then grab the info from columns C, F and G? That way if the buttons at the top were pushed, we are looking for the gage id in any order, not the cell location…

      Image 7:

Workbook info is being placed – C10 to F10

Those are images, not the actual file. I meant, in my request, that you could post a copy of the actual Excel file on OneDrive or Google Drive, with a link here that grants edit access to it. It is hard, at best, to work from images alone (especially when they're as small as yours are (once you take away the surrounding and unnecessary black areas!!).

My brief looks at your images, however, makes me think that one of the various LOOKUP functions that I pointed you to in my previous post may well be the answer. Did you look at any of them? Please do, as you clearly know your way around Excel--based on the conditional formatting, etc., evident in your images.

And feel free to come back, but please, add access to the file itself (or a mockup that illustrates the same need). Otherwise, it's hard to do more than say, "Use VLOOKUP or XLOOKUP (or one of the equivalents).
