PivotChart resetting...

Hello everyone. what I have is a simple PivotChart that is showing me a graph quarterly.  

 can someone tell me the difference in having Automatic checked then putting the date range Start 1/1/2023 Stop 12/31/2023 and Not checking the Automatic?

Also for some reason It reverts back to a range not specified by me. Usually a range between what I have already put on the spreadsheet. So If I have dates ranging from 1/25/2023 to 4/08/2023 the range resets itself to reflect that range on its own.

    Checking those boxes will ensure your chart will display future (or past) quarters in case you get more data.
