Pivot Tables - Changing Date format

I'm using a pivot table; when I select the date field, it automatically add quarter and year which is fine. My issues is when I select my original invoice date it only shows the month and not the complete month and date. It doesn't allow me to get the information of qty per day only by month.  I selected field setting but it does not give me the option to change the format to include day. I tired altering year or quarter as it shows up there, but it doesn't change.
