Pivot table

I have a row with more than 100 labels and I need to group them. However, each box contains a different description. Is there a way of Applying a filter so that I can create groups. However every time I create a filter, all the other boxes disappear but i want them to remain so I can continue filtering and making more groups. A bit complicated but really need help
