pivot table date formatting not working
I want my pivot table to show the date format that exists in my source data (mm/dd/yyyy). The pivot table is automatically grouping the date into Year and Quarter, and after deleting these from the sidebar field list, the Date Field only shows the month (mm); refuses to allow formatting as desired. Does anyone know if this known ms excel pivot table problem was ever solved?

You removed the fields from the rows area or columns area. The dates are still grouped.
Right click in the date field and choose "Ungroup".
