Operarion cannot be completed. File is locked
Hi,
We have a shared file in a shared drive that keeps give the message "The file is locked. Try again later". This file is used by several users. We already checked all the online workarounds as turn off preview pane, new file, new folder but we keep getting the message and we need to re-do the file to stop having the message.
Can please someone help me?
Thank you.

- JKPieterseSilver ContributorIs there any *other* file which uses this file in for instance an external connection?
- Nuno_CunhaCopper ContributorHi Jan,
Thanks for the reply.
There are no links with other files. Should I check the links to see if there is any that can be “lost”?- JKPieterseSilver ContributorI don't mena links *in* your file, I mean links in *other* workbooks *to* your file, especially powerquery links and "database" links can cause the file to be locked if such a file is open. But this might also be a networking issue, I'm not sure. Are all your users on the same version of Excel, all using the same operating system?
